Celebrate Christmas in Devonport

Devonport City Council

Celebrate Christmas in Devonport with an abundance of Christmas activities to help you to get in the spirit!

The 2019 Devonport Christmas Parade will be held on Friday 6 December from 6.30pm. With local floats from Devonport businesses, schools, community and sporting groups, the Parade is the perfect way to kick off the festive season in Devonport. Of course, Santa will be there to wish all a very Merry Christmas, so bring the whole family to this fabulous event!

You wont have to go far from the parade for the festivities to continue as the annual Christmas Market supported by the Devonport Salvation Army will  happen between 4-8pm at Devonport Oval, adjacent to the parade route.

Devonport’s Carols By Candlelight will entertain the young and old at Devonport Oval on Sunday 8 December at xxpm. The program will include performances from several choirs and vocal groups and the City of Devonport Brass Band who, along with the Community Choir will be leading the crowd in well-known Christmas songs throughout the evening. Of course, Santa and Mrs Claus will be dropping in to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. So pack a picnic or enjoy the food and beverage trucks on offer and don’t forget your Christmas outfits! Entry is by gold coin donation.

Celebrate the end of the working year with workmates and friends on Friday 20 December as the Rotary Club of Devonport holds their annual Breakfast in the Park. Patrons are encouraged to dress up in celebratory costume, decorate their tables and enjoy this special time of year. There are prizes for effort, a pet parade, face painting and a visit from Santa for the children.

If you’re visiting Devonport in December be sure to visit the Christmas Tree in the mall decorated with panels painted by local schools and childcare centers. And while you are there take a photo with Santa and his reindeer on our Christmas pavement artwork in the centre of the mall.
