Interactive Map: Wildlife and Critters in Northern Tasmania

Devonport City Council

Northern Tasmania offers a host of wildlife and animal viewing opportunities. Whether you’re looking to see red pandas or wallabies, there’s something for you. We’ve prepared this map (focusing on Devonport of course) so you can spot furry or scaly friends. From within the city limits to a short 1 hour drive or day trip, these places are havens for wildlife and conservation

The best opportunities for wildlife viewing include locations in or nearby Devonport. Wallabies, fish, birds and whales are all close to home.

An array of native and imported wildlife can be found at other spots, such as the Tasmanian Zoo or Wings Wildlife Sanctuary. Endangered Tasmanian Devils can be seen and supported on a tour at Cradle Mountain. There are even monkeys in the middle of City Park in Launceston – furry friends really are everywhere if you know where to look.
