Mersey Bluff
Bit more of an outdoorsy type? Take a blanket and snacks to enjoy on the Bluff rocks on a sunny day. Overlook the beautiful water and fresh air at this romantic spot. Many of the rocks are high above the sea and can be safely accessed from the path – if you choose your spot right, you’ll have the perfect date. And depending on your timing, you can welcome or farewell the two Spirit of Tasmania Ferries on their regular Bass Strait journey.
Go see a movie
You’re spoilt for options if you’re hoping to take your love interest to a film – the North-West Film Society sometimes show movies for free, and Readings Cinema also show popular new movies.
Listen to your Art
Appreciate your art amongst the art – take your partner or crush to the Devonport Regional Art gallery and see a current exhibition. With three gallery spaces, you’ll be spoilt for choice. The nearby restaurants and cafes can sustain you as you explore the world of artistic creation here in Devonport.
Bass Strait Maritime Centre
Ever wanted to recreate the iconic Titanic (1997) scene with your beau? Give it a go at the Bass Strait Maritime Centre where you can enjoy the museum and interactive exhibits showcasing a unique part of Devonport’s history.

Swim into romance at Splash
Although we encourage you to have a romantic summer date at Splash Devonport Aquatic and Leisure Centre, we would caution you to avoid recreating Titanic (1997) here. Sunbake by the pool or go for a swim – just remember to wear sunscreen!
